INTRODUCTION

European Europe was at desperate need of alter during the sixteenth century. The favorite cry among the list of Europeans was obviously a call for " reform”. The political atmosphere was unstable as a result of chaotic leadership improvements during the dismantling of the feudal system. This disunity from the people create a general ambiance among the Europeans of unhappiness, unrest, and frustration. Monetarily, the residents experienced improved poverty and financial troubles. The church was seriously plagued by greed and problem among the clergy, even inside the upper echelons. The psychic quality from the clergy had been degraded through the appointment of familial or political candidates. The theological minds, like Martin Luther's, sought a reformation of church cortege and an excellent return to the essentials of Christianity. The emphasis placed on Luther's doctrine of justification and scriptural power helped to reform house of worship traditions and break the binding hold of corrupt market leaders over the chapel. THE STATE OF THE CHURCH

The sixteenth 100 years was a turbulent time for American Europe plus the Church. Many Europeans had been fraught with worry concerning the economical, religious, and interpersonal disorder. Since the producing press shot to popularity, the middle and lower classes were being bombarded with details that had previously recently been unavailable; a number of competing projet were being given a words through published media. Previously, people will turn to spiritual institutions intended for hope and guidance amongst this type of mayhem. However , the state of the cathedral in the 16th century was fragile. This is due partly to the effects of the Great Schism in the fourteenth century. "[The Superb Schism] divided the political, plus the ecclesiastical globe, and disperses the Christian Europe in to several hostile camps”.

The Great Schism was a response to a gradual decline along political and theological lines. Prior to the Wonderful Schism, the Papacy experienced risen to an amount of prominence in the hearts and thoughts of Western European Christians. The Church controlled virtually every aspect of human your life within Traditional western Europe as well as the Pope was looked to as the authority about all things; spiritual and secular. The Church possessed a large percentage of areas and had set up one of the most effective systems of presidency in history.
