Authentic Flag Display in the Holzwarth Library

Wall behind reference desk in Library
     Third National Confederate flag adopted in March 1865. It came from Hammond, La.

2. Left over Fireplace
    34 star "Great Star" flag, dated January 29, 1861 the year Kansas became a state.

3. Right of Chimney (Loft)
    30 star flag dates from 1848, hand sewn stars and was used throughout the Civil War.

4. Left of Window and Chimney (Loft)
     44 star GAR flag 1890, Post #108, Georgetown, Massachusetts. Used for Civil War veterans events.

5. On Stairway
     45 star GAR flag dates to 1896. Lettering on the "In Memoriam for Charles Ward Post #62 Newton, Massachusetts."

     GAR ldies auxiliary flag, circa 1920.

34 stars, the canton has been cut so that the stars can be seen from either side. Completely hand sewn Civil War period
     flag, banner added at a later date.

     36 stars handsewn by the Bates family of Massachusetts, dated 1864 - 1865. It also has the unique cut out star effect
     viewing from both sides.

       Confederate Veterans reunion stick flag circa 1900.
